On November 12, 2019, Smith Pachter McWhorter attorneys Jonathan D. Shaffer and Todd M. Garland will present a webinar on "Lessons Learned from Federal Organizational Conflict of Interest Protests," highlighting organizational conflicts of interest (“OCIs”) issues. The webinar will provide lessons learned from recent protest decisions addressing OCIs issued by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, U.S. Court of Federal Claims, and Government Accountability Office (“GAO”). Attendees will learn how to recognize OCIs, become familiar with federal procurement regulations addressing OCIs, and identify work that can trigger an OCI and procedures sufficient to detect, prevent, and mitigate OCIs. Contractors and government personnel must be able to identify and mitigate OCIs because an OCI—or merely the appearance of one—can result in elimination from a competition or can be grounds for overturning an award.
