Max Terhar focuses his practice on the areas of construction law, government contracts and white collar law. He advises general contractors and subcontractors on litigation, counseling, and compliance matters. His experience includes commercial litigation before various Federal and State courts and boards, as well as mediation and arbitration. He is experienced in successful Requests for Equitable Adjustment (REAs), drafting mechanic's liens, contract formation and administration matters, government investigations, contract claims and disputes.

Prior to joining Smith Pachter McWhorter, he served as a Law Clerk with the United States Civilian Board of Contract Appeals.

Mr. Terhar received his J.D. from The American University Washington College of Law, where he served as a Note and Comment Editor of the Business Law Review. Prior to law school, he worked for a major General Contractor on the corporate training and innovation team. He graduated from the George Washington University with a B.A. in Economics and a B.A. in Political Science.

He is a member of the District of Columbia Bar and the Construction and Public Contracts Law Section of the Virginia Bar Association.
