Ms. Semple joined Smith Pachter McWhorter in 2014 after a summer with the firm in 2013.  She practices in government contracts and construction law matters.  Ms. Semple has experience in claims litigation involving issues such as delay damages, defective specifications, equitable adjustments, differing site conditions, constructive changes and other federal government contracts issues arising under the Federal Acquisition Regulations and relevant statutes.  She has also assisted in costing and pricing issues involving cost allocability and allowability, the Cost Accounting Standards, and government audits.

Ms. Semple graduated from the George Washington University Law School, where she completed several government contracts law courses including government contract cost and pricing and government contracts advocacy.  Ms. Semple was Vice President of Internal Competitions for the GW Moot Court Board, Notes Editor for the Federal Circuit Bar Journal, and assisted in the GW Cancer Pro Bono clinic.  During law school, she worked in the Office of General Counsel, Real Property – Litigation Division for the General Services Administration, where she aided attorneys in preparing for several high-profile bid protests.  She also served as a judicial intern in the chambers of the Honorable Judge Peter J. Messitte of the United States District Court for the District of Maryland.
